Waterfront Avila Beach Resort Wedding

We were blessed with beautiful sunshine and calm breezes for Meghan and DJ’s early summer wedding in Avila Beach, CA. Waterfront properties lend so much texture and atmosphere to an event, and being a lover of vintage and modern styles, Meghan and I were able to create the perfect seaside fete for her and DJ’s big day.

Judi of Embellished Vintage Rentals has collected the perfect mismatched plates, flatware and crystal glasses over the years to juxtapose Meghan’s soft and modern color palette of blues, purples and whites. Rachael of Eden Floral crafted the most dreamy bouquets, centerpieces and arch for these two love birds. Set against the fresh cut grass, warm sand and crystal waters – this day was perfection and captured beautifully by local photographer Anya McInroy.

Avila Beach is located in a tiny cove where the mountains meet the sea, just south of San Luis Obispo. One of the best parts about the Beach Resort where Meghan and DJ chose to host their nearest and dearest is the ability to take photos under massive oaks with the sunlight filtering through and with your toes in the water at dusk without having to drive anywhere! Guests enjoy fantastic views of the lush rolling hills and the waves crashing ashore without leaving their seats. An extra perk? The venue comes equipped with tiki torches, fire pits and lounge chairs where the grass meets the sand so you can soak up all the beach vibes you can handle.

We were so excited to design and coordinate for this couple – they met at Cal Poly (our alma mater too!), and now live in LA so bringing their closest friends and family together where they fell in love was so special for us.
